Who is Liberty?

Liberty of London is one of the last great emporiums for innovative and eclectic design. Situated in the heart of London since 1875, it remains to this day the destination of choice for the savvy and sophisticated shopper.

The Problem

Liberty wanted to address their cart abandonment rate. Simultaneously, it was important to them that they didn’t come off as desperate in their remarketing efforts. They wanted to bring customers back, while still maintaining a luxury look and feel.

Our Solution

The Online Efficiency Consultant and Analyst we dedicated to Liberty produced a report that told us 69% of all site abandonments were on the registration and login page itself.

  • Because users were being forced to register before making a purchase, 31% of them didn’t even reach the checkout process.
  • We advised them to create a ‘guest checkout’ system for any site visitors who weren’t already registered.
  • We then installed VeCapture onto their site so we could recover all the data, field by field, and remarket through behaviour-driven email campaigns. These dealt with the difficulty customers were facing with the register and login requests.
  • We then used Cascade for a second remarketing email that we drip fed 48 hours later, using product feed messaging.
  • For a further boost at Christmas, we included seasonal product aesthetics and the traditional Liberty discount code.
