David-Joseph BrownICChief Executive OfficerSerial entrepreneur David-Joseph Brown is a co-founder of Ve Interactive and serves as its CEO. He brings a strong media/technology and corporate background to the table, as well as extensive international experience.
As CEO, David has built the management team and driven the company strategy forward, with an equal focus on an entrepreneurial approach and internationalisation. His entrepreneurial approach is central to his business philosophy and supports his notion that unparalleled market dominance comes from an extraordinary performance from all staff across the business.
Internationally, David draws on a decade of global business experience, operating primarily across Europe, Asia and America, and serving on Executive boards in six countries. He has already directed launches of eight international Ve offices within the past two years.
David currently serves on a number of Executive boards and holds three Chairman positions.
At the Conservative Party conference in 2011, David had policy recommendations included in Enterprise Nation's Small Business Report. Recently he won a Bronze Medal in the 2012 Stevie® International Business Awards for 'Software Executive of the Year' and prides himself on his ‘not-for-profit’ commitments.

David began life as a professional musician and still writes and records in his spare time today. His music career led him into digital music production, which led him into multimedia and ultimately to build a global interactive media company, Serious, starting in 1997 before being sold in 2007.
Serious took David to New York City, where he resided for eight years. During his tenure at Serious USA, Inc. (and its group of companies), David led the strategic growth, financing and sales as well as the licensing and patent portfolio development. The digital company was the first to hold sports rights for all major US sports including NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB, for which it produced interactive media content, as well as for major football clubs and events around the world, including Manchester United and Euro 2004™. In addition, the company produced licensed interactive content for major film houses and included properties; the Lord of The Rings trilogy, Men in Black 2, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Spiderman. Serious had offices in New York, London and Singapore.
Over the past decade, David has directed the filing and acquisition of over 120 patents in 40 languages, completed multiple acquisitions, directed the investment financing of over £100m and driven sales strategies reaching several hundred million pounds.
Since relocating back to the UK in 2008, David is committed to revolutionising the online efficiency industry, bringing industry focus to the power of data, as well as supporting entrepreneurialism in the UK.

Under David’s steerage, Ve Interactive has enjoyed exciting growth and evolution, from being a multi award-winning cart recovery expert, to now a full blown Total Online Efficiency solutions company for the e-commerce industry. It now has eight offices worldwide, as well as operating additional EU language desks from its Tech City HQ. Ve has over 2,000 clients and employs over 200 people. Along with Martin King at Ve Interactive, David is a partner in several consulting and asset management businesses through which various strategic investments are held and managed.

Mark HargreavesICChief Operating OfficerMark Hargreaves was hired directly from Manchester United where he was originally head of IT and went on to become the General Manager of Manchester United Interactive. During his tenure as General Manager, Mark ran manutd.com one of the world's most successful websites for over 7 years, spearheading the development of four sister multi-lingual sites for Asia and the Middle East, working with major brands and support service companies to deliver Man Utd content and e-commerce solutions to over 8 million unique visitors every month. The sites went on to win prestigious Sport Industry, New Media Age and Webby Awards.In his capacity as COO at Ve Interactive UK, Mark is responsible for implementing the overarching strategy for the product development and sales.
Martin KingICDirector of Business Development & Investor RelationsWith a BSc (Hons) in Engineering Product Design Martin's career began in developing ground-breaking products, from commercial satellite communication systems through to key components for NASA industries. Being drawn toward the financing side of these product development industries Martin's career turned into a financial strategy one. He draws on a broad range of business experience. From within the financial services industry Martin created and developed business and tax consultancies, new financial products for the public market through to wealth management and tax planning services.
Within general business Martin has focused on shareholder and equity value generation, from funding through to exit within SME, small and large-cap across a number of industries.
Martin heads up the key Business Development areas for Ve interactive as well as the financial strategy ensuring efficient application of founder and investor funds to key growth areas such as international expansion and M&A work. Martin is a devout petrol head and as such a collector of high-performance cars, recently adding the Ferrari 458 Italia to his collection. Together with CEO David J Brown he is also a partner in several consulting and asset management businesses through which various strategic investments are held and managed.
Kathy HeslopICDirector of WorldWide CommunicationsKathy has invested more than 10 years achieving strategic business goals through high impact marketing and PR initiatives and has an understanding of how effective communications can impact an organisation. Prior to Ve Interactive, Kathy was a co-founder of the digital publishing company Serious where she worked for over eight years, based out of New York City.Kathy made the jump to PR from licensing and merchandising and has a track record of successfully developing markets via PR and Communications. Having generated media coverage for Serious, (including profile features in The Financial Times, Brand Week and on NY1), Kathy was also responsible for the company's many industry awards and nominations, and for developing the company's Corporate Social Responsibility programme, partnering Serious with UNICEF, raising funds for the organisation's global campaign on children and AIDS.Kathy was once a professional violinist. She was also the first female electric violinist to perform at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club and co-wrote the trailer music for the movie Notting Hill.
Kathy sits on the executive board of the designer maker, Tree Couture Ltd and is a fellow of The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA). She is also an ambassador for the international development organisation Concern Universal and is one of the Ve bloggers.
Mark TikaramICDirector of Finance & Corporate AffairsMark has over 20 years experience in Financial Services where he provided advice to the high net worth market. After working with a number of organizations, Mark developed and grew his own successful consultancy service before joining Ve Interactive in 2009.
Mark is responsible for all of Ve Interactive’s financial reporting, control, financial planning, corporate governance and Human Resource.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys fitness, focusing on outdoor sport events that include off-road biking and trail-running. In this capacity he has raised funds for The British Heart Foundation, as well as participating in the Ve Interactive Tough Mudder team that raised funds for Ve’s charity partner Concern Universal.
Adam LynchICDirector of Business DevelopmentAdam brings a strong digital background to the table. Prior to this position, he was at the R&A for nine years. The R&A is golf’s governing body and is the organiser of The Open Championship. At the R&A, Adam was initially focussed on commercial aspects of The Open Championship; Broadcast rights sales, digital media rights, merchandise and licensing, and The Open brand, but also had responsibility for all R&A digital media products; the main two sites - opengolf.com and RandA.org.
In 2008 he moved to focus solely on The R&A's cross-platform digital media offering and commercial strategy as Head of Digital Media. This included online, mobile, gaming, ticketing and e-commerce. Opengolf.com, the Open Championship's Official website, received over 6 million unique visitors over the 4 days of the 2010 Championship. Official R&A Apps have been downloaded over 400,000 times and The Open app was awarded the Pixel Award App Winner and People's Choice award.
At Ve Interactive Adam heads up Business Development for special projects and also guides the digital strategy for Vequity Investments, the holding company of Ve Interactive’s strategic investments.
Raul MartinezICChief Technology OfficerRaul has been working in the IT industry for over 15 years. After completing his studies, he started to work for an engineering company in his home town, Bilbao -Spain, where the product he designed and developed for the Public Health Service was awarded with a prize for the best innovative software of the year in the Public Sector.
After this, he moved to Entel, gaining futher skills and experience to become a successful IT professional. Seeking new challenges, Raul moved to Ireland to work in an international environment and became an employee of the American global company Snap on Tools. After almost three years in Ireland, he decided to move back to Spain and started working for the multinational consultancy group, CapGemini Group, being outsourced at the antivirus company, Panda Security. During his employment at Panda, he was in charge of one of the most complex systems (Hercules) where he was familiarised with complex systems and big databases.
Raul moved to London in 2009 and immediately started working for Ve Interactive. Here Raul heads up the IT/software Department and in his role as CTO, is always looking to grow the already multi award-winning Ve Interactive product roster.
Charles ClarkeICDirector of Strategic AlliancesCharles Clarke obtained a law degree at Liverpool University and joined following a successful tenure as Commercial Director of Soccerex. At Soccerex, Clarke was responsible for developing the overall sales strategies aimed at leveraging the Soccerex b2b brand worldwide. During his tenure he oversaw the commercial strategy formulation and development of new revenue streams as they relate to sponsorship, strategic partnerships, online presence, and international ventures allowing the company to grow into one of the most formidable Sports Conferences in the world today, experience which set him in good stead for his role as Ve Interactive’s Director of Strategic Alliances.
Elliott GreenICChief Information OfficerElliott joined Ve Interactive in October 2012 following almost a decade of working at JP Morgan, followed by a transition to looking at smaller companies, mainly in the technology space. With a natural desire to constantly learn and motivate, he has found himself in a place that really exploits his skill sets when dealing with the data-driven aspects of Ve Interactive's solutions-based software portfolio, and the constant interaction with the company's ever-growing customer base.
His previous experience of trading at JP Morgan, within the Emerging Markets division, has given him excellent insight into the expanding opportunities that lie in various new countries across Latin America, Asia and Eastern Europe. As a trader, he dealt with huge information sets that required processing in order to form clear and concise strategies - a clear link to some of the aspects Ve Interactive also deals with.
His passions for technology and rapidly growing companies have led him to love life at Ve Interactive, embracing all the new challenges and working to bring the company's clients both an amazing service and product roster.
Roddy ScaifeICProduction DirectorPrior to joining Ve Interactive, Roddy had started his own digital agency, Adaptive Consultancy in 2007, which he then ran successfully for 5 years. It was his role to ensure the design, build and delivery of web projects, particularly for the retail industry. During this time he also designed and supervised the build of an eCommerce platform which ultimately meant Roddy gained a wealth of experience in eCommerce and usability.
In his newly appointed capacity as Creative Director at Ve Interactive, Roddy is now responsible for successful production of VeServices and is one of the Ve bloggers. When Roddy is not busy with all things web he is a keen cricketer and commercial hot air balloon pilot.
Markus Goess-SaurauICClient Services DirectorPrior to joining Ve Interactive Markus co-founded the digital agency, Adaptive Consultancy, in 2007, which he then ran successfully for 5 years. As Marketing Director, Markus developed and executed marketing strategies for clients. Industries Markus has worked in include fashion, travel and manufacturing.
In his newly appointed role as Head of Digital Marketing at Ve Interactive, Markus is responsible for helping clients maximise their online sales. He is also one of the Ve bloggers.
When Markus manages to escape from the office he practices mixed martial arts and is a keen golfer during the weekends playing off 5.
Jonathan RiversICDirector of Market DevelopmentJonathan has 10 years experience in the Digital and IT industry. Straight out of University, he chose to move over to the French Alps and worked for three years at a leading Travel company called Eurogroup. He led the Support for over 800 members of staff across multiple sites. In order to further advance his career, he moved to the UK and joined Asta Development, a leading UK Project Management software company as a Software Consultant, delivering enterprise level software and services to some of the largest construction companies in the UK. In 2010, Jonathan met Mark Hargreaves and instantly bought into the amazing opportunity of Ve Interactive. Jonathan joined the business at quite an early stage and has seen the phenomenal growth over the past two years. Jonathan now oversees Market Development expanding VeInteractive's territory reach and product offering. This involves driving the Ve Interactive expansion across international markets and developing the service offering for new and existing clients helping the business to grow in the right way.
In his spare time, Jonathan is a keen water polo player and is also currently in training to compete in the gruelling Tough Mudder event and raise funds for our charity partner, Concern Universal.
Jocelyn WhinneyICGeneral CounselJocelyn Whinney joined the corporate team from specialist media lawyers Lee & Thompson and previously from the commercial legal teams of Google and Telefonica Digital.Jocelyn is a qualified IP and IT lawyer and handles all legal matters for Ve Interactive. As a company that takes pride in our data privacy and compliance practices, and that is leading the field as a result of our continual innovation, bringing out multiple supplementary technologies to fully support our clients' digital strategies, Jocelyn will be instrumental in directing and protecting Ve's IP strategy.
Greg ShlopakICChief Executive Officer
Gregory P. Shlopak started his career as a professor of sciences at Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA. Greg later founded and served as Chairman and CEO of Cyrk Inc., a promotional marketing and design company. Cyrk grew to be the largest global promotional marketing company during Greg's twenty-three year tenure, achieving yearly revenues of $980 million worldwide. Privately owned until July 1993, Cyrk went public and traded on NASDAQ.
Cyrk designed, implemented, produced and fulfilled global brand loyalty marketing promotions for Fortune 500 companies. This included the Marlboro Adventure Team Program, Pepsi Stuff Campaign, McDonald's Happy Meals worldwide and the Beanie Babies Official Club.
Cyrk operated offices and major production facilities in the U.S., Europe and Asia to service their clients representing the top brands in their respective industries. In addition to Cyrk's creative marketing capabilities, Cyrk was also a leading producer of textile products and toys in Asia. Cyrk led to the genesis of Exchange Applications Inc., whose principal activity is the provision of enterprise Customer Relationship Management (eCRM) solutions that optimize interactive relationships between customers and companies.
Greg left Cyrk in 1999 to join his board member, partner and good friend, Louis Marx, in his venture capital business - Brae Capital in New York City. The emphasis of his investments was in marketing and marketing technologies. Two of Greg's contributions to the organization were FairMarket, Inc. and Marketswitch Corporation. FairMarket, Inc. became publicly traded one year after the initial investment at a rate of return of seventy-five times. Marketswitch Corporation is the leading marketing and risk optimization software company serving many of the world's largest business-to-consumer enterprises. Greg served as a board member of Marketswitch USA and Marketswitch Japan, as well as a consultant and advisor to the CEO.
Greg's investments and operational participation this past decade follow his interests in marketing, sports, technologies and healthcare.They include Ace Surfaces, which holds the North American license for Rebound Ace tennis and playground surfaces. Ace Surfaces is also the official Nike Grind tennis and basketball surface. Rockport Venture Partners, an NASD broker-dealer, which raises venture capital in the U.S., Europe and Asia for bio-tech, life sciences and medical device companies in the United States.
Greg founded and partnered with the Havens Company in 2003 to form Havensure LLC, an insurance business focusing on Group Universal Life and Disability Insurance for major corporations.
For the last two and a half years, Greg has served as Executive Chairman and acting CEO of OfficeWorks Inc., in California. Greg also served as Chairman of Serious USA, where he met David Brown, founder and CEO of Ve Interactive.
Greg earned a B.A. from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA and an M.A. from the University of Delaware.
Stephen PolinskyICChief Operating OfficerStephen is an accomplished entrepreneur and executive having founded and built three successful software and services companies to date. In 2009, Stephen started and served as CEO and President of KeChange - where he was responsible for the company's funding, general strategy and business operations. Through consulting and retainer-based managed services, KeChange helped companies to expand their digital presence and authority, increase sales, customer experience and retention. In 2011, KeChange was merged into Ve Interactive - North America.
In 2007, Stephen started CondoAssociation.com, now the leading online provider of financial and management services to the community association industry. In 2010, CondoAssociation.com received over $120M in HOA loan applications for its banking partners.
In 1999, Stephen co-founded GenuOne Inc., an emerging growth SaaS application and services company focused on assisting leading brands with their supply chain security challenges. The company raised over $20M in VC financing and a $15M credit line with RBS. The company had over 75 employees and an account base of over 50 global companies. GenuOne was purchased by OpSec Security (OSG.L) in 2006. Prior to this, Stephen held various sales and marketing positions with Nortel and Philips Electronics. Stephen holds a B.A. in Political Economics from the University of Hartford. He currently sits on the Board of Future Leader for Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital (BIDMC).
Oliver GrafICManaging DirectorOliver Graf - Managing Director in Berlin is responsible for growing Ve Interactive’s business across the DACH market. Oliver has a strong background in international media and finance, combined with an extensive network in the European media landscape in general and the German start-up scene in particular.
After finishing his degree in business administration at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, Oliver worked as manager for business planning at Premiere, a German pay TV station now known as Sky Germany, in early 2004, where he was part of the team that managed the company’s IPO in 2005. Later on he was one of the project managers responsible for launching HDTV on the German market.
In 2006 Oliver joined Axel Springer, Europe’s biggest publishing house, as a manager for international business development. In this role he participated in a number of M&A and business development projects, including the purchase of AuFeminin.com, SeLoger.fr, and Autoreflex.fr (all located in France). He was also directly involved in the realisation of an eastern European joint venture with Ringier, a Swiss company. While working on those projects, he fine-tuned his analytical and strategic skills, and developed a strong intrinsic motivation for driving projects, products and business models.
By taking over the position of publishing director and launching a truly innovative magazine on the German market, Oliver’s interest in becoming an entrepreneur was hatched. While responsible for and involved in every aspect of the launch, he sharpened his entrepreneurial, leadership and innovation skills.
In early 2011, Oliver left Axel Springer to co-found tvype.com a white-label technology for photo and video uploads (UGC). The technology of tvype enables customer like radio stations, local publishing houses, sports clubs and other institutions with strong communities to enhance their user/customer/fan relations and professionalize the access to UGC.
In March 2011 Oliver founded the Graf Media UG, a management consultancy and venture company, specialised in the media sector with a focus on innovative and scalable business models with potential for internationalisation.
Johan HagenfeldtICChief Executive OfficerWith a background as an officer in the Swedish military, law degree and having worked in entrepreneurial corporations, Johan has developed a thorough proficiency in leadership, business development, innovation, marketing and sales. In particular, Johan has gained special skills in both online and offline sales/marketing and negotiations with cooperation’s and networks around the globe. Throughout Johan’s career he has demonstrated very strong self-starting skills, taking personal responsibility for driving projects and employees forward in a variety of challenging start-up environments.
David LinellICChief Operating OfficerDavid has founded and operated several companies within the online affiliate space, the common denominator being lead-generation and onsite optimisation, in order to convert customers for online merchants. David has grown to become an expert within online efficiency processes and performance marketing and has been a speaker at various events, the most recent being Conversion Jam #2 in Stockholm, where he spoke about Remarketing.
David joined Johan Hagenfeldt and Björn Antonson in the summer of 2011, setting up Ve Interactive Nordic in Stockholm, Sweden, where David now acts as the Chief Operating Officer and liaison between Ve Interactive's London HQ and the Nordic region.
David holds a Master degree in Business and Economics from Stockholm School of Economics, ranked as one of the top business schools in Europe.
Björn AntonsonICChief Financial OfficerBefore becoming an entrepreneur, Björn held various positions within the BMW organization for several years at their headquarters in Munich, Germany. In his roles working with corporate strategy and business development he refined his analytical, strategic and leadership skills in particular.
Björn holds double Master degrees from Lund University, Sweden where he on a parallel basis earned his M.Sc. in Business and Economics as well as a Master of Laws (LL.M). He completed his graduate part of the education abroad on Univeristy of St. Gallen in Switzerland and on University of California Berkeley, in the US.
In 2009 Björn founded Fremonte AB together with Johan Hagenfeldt, an online marketing consultancy firm, focusing on development of market entry strategies and strategic partnerships on a global basis, catering to a broad base of clients with emphasize on companies active within social media and online entertainment.
Juliana CustódioICManaging DirectorJuliana is responsible for the launching of and running of operations of Ve Interactive’s business across Brazil.
Juliana has 10 years’ experience in UK and European Online/Offline markets, combined with her degree and masters, and her passion for travel. She has worked with diverse brands that include: Tom Aikens, London Imperial College and Saatchi Art Galary. In 2007, Juliana joined Finaccord, an English market research, publishing and consulting company specialising in financial services. As Head of Business Research and Development for South America she lead a number of Brazilian Banking projects, and produced special analysis for reports.
